‘Wallingford Family’ Parade & Festival Planning Is Underway…

Last modified on 2013-05-06 21:29:39 GMT. 0 comments. Top.

For over 60 years Wallingford has played host to the longest running Seafair Parade, known as the Kiddie Parade. Families come from far and near to watch, participate in and enjoy this traditional event. This year, our parade will be held on Saturday July 6th beginning at 11AM.

The Parade is growing and expanding this year and has been renamed the ‘Wallingford Family’ Parade and Festival, to reflect the importance of our collective neighborhood family. The parade will still feature kids as major participants but will also include families and local businesses. Drill teams, local marching bands and family oriented organizations will be represented in the Parade.

The Parade will be followed by the ‘Wallingford Family’ Festival at the Meridian Park adjacent to the Good Shepherd Center beginning at 12PM and running through 5PM. The Festival portion of the day will include local vendors selling handicrafts, booths featuring demonstrations and food vendors. There will also be plenty of activities for kids, including bouncy houses and games. Two stages will present the music of local bands and kids’ music groups. Plenty of fun and variety for all our Wallingford Family!

For more information about the ‘WALLINGFORD FAMILY’ PARADE & FESTIVAL we invite you to visit the event web site at www.visitwallingford.org.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED – For both the Parade & the Festival. Email: events@wallingfordchamber.org and join us as a volunteer for this big day!

Community Psychiatric Clinic (CPC), established in 1953, is a non-profit agency that seeks to enhance the quality of life for individuals recovering from mental illness in Seattle and King County by delivering a full continuum of community-based behavioral healthcare services.

At CPC’s Wallingford location (4120 Stone Way N.), case managers in the Community Support Services program work with program participants to monitor recovery goals, assess treatment outcomes, and maintain medication compliance.

The Stepworks Vocational Program (also located at the Wallingford site) offers a range of vocational options and supports for participants who would like to return to the workforce, including agency-operated businesses, supported employment positions, and individual placement services.

Wallingford House (located next door to Stepworks) is an ICCD-certified Clubhouse program offering participants the opportunity to focus on pre-employment issues and job readiness by learning a variety of critical job skills in a supportive and comfortable environment.
