May Is Bike Month

This month is nationally recognized as Bike Month, a celebration of biking, from work and school commutes to errands to recreational riding. Over 20,000 in the region are expected to participate in Bike to Work Day on May 18th and the Commute Challenge motivates new bike commuters all month long.

The Wallingford Boys & Girls Club Annual Celebration and Silent Auction is scheduled for Friday, June 1st from 6-8:30PM.

This event is open to all WBGC families and friends! Your support is welcome through the Silent Auction and Dessert Dash. There is no cost to attend.

Wallingford Farmer’s Market 2012 Season Begins Wednesday, May 30th!

The Wallingford Farmers Market, located in beautiful Meridian Park at the corner of Meridian Avenue N and N 50th Street, will celebrate it’s 2012 Opening Day on Wednesday, May 30th. Beginning at 3:30PM, come start the summer off in a healthy way by supporting locally grown organic and sustainably grown produce and baked goods.

In 2012, the Wallingford Farmer’s Market will be open open every Wednesday, 3:30-7 p.m., from May 30th until Sept. 26th.

The 2nd Annual Cheers to Wallingford Business Expo is this coming Wednesday, May 16th from 4-7PM at Wine World (400 NE 45th, Suite 130). Invite your neighbors and friends to come along for wine and food tasting, demonstrations and more!

This year’s event features over 40 exhibitors and free food and drink samples – including wine tasting.This is a great opportunity to meet local business owners and mingle in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

Everyone is welcome.Admission is free, but donations to the chamber will be gladly accepted.Parking is limited, so walking, carpooling or street parking is encouraged.

The Wallingford Chamber of Commerce has taken a very active role in the Wallingford community and surrounding neighborhoods for the past several years. Some of the events that the Chamber has been involved in are the Farmer’s Market, the Art Walk, the Seafair parade and street fair, and Operation Beautification Wallingford. The “Cheers to Wallingford” Business Expo is another example of the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce providing opportunities for community-building that simultaneously promote local businesses.

This event is FREE to the public; donations will be gratefully accepted.

Cheers to Wallingford is our annual membership drive, so new members who apply for membership prior to or on May 16th will receive 18 months of membership at the price of 12!
